Iristel scoops up two Canadian telcos deemed “strong strategic fits”

MARKHAM, ON - Iristel Inc. has acquired telecommunications firms Trutel Inc. in Toronto and Montreal-based Exelia Inc., the company said Tuesday.  Terms of the deals between the privately-held companies were not disclosed.Founded in 2000, Trutel offers a portfolio of business and carrier/wholesale IP communication services.  Exelia caters to the telco needs in the small business market.Trutel president Frank Auciello will join Iristel as VP networks and infrastructure, and Exelia founders Dimitri Stathis and Harry Villeneuve will come on board as VP enterprise strategy and operations, and VP enterprise sales, respectively.  Stathis will also be responsible for managing Iristel's Montreal office, continues...
