TORONTO – Rogers is helping Canadian businesses simplify how they will roll out and manage Internet of Things (IoT) solutions globally.
Thanks to a partnership with Giesecke & Devrient (G&D), Rogers said Wednesday that Canadian businesses can now use a single SIM, which automatically connects IoT devices to the local provider networks, eliminating the need to substitute local SIMs in each country in addition to reducing roaming costs and go-to-market timelines.
The solution is fully integrated with Rogers' IoT platform, so businesses have insight into all of their connected devices and can manage subscriptions on all of their devices remotely.
“Canadian businesses are increasingly looking to deliver Internet of Things solutions globally, and to do so they require technology that allows them to rapidly scale their solutions quickly and cost effectively,” said Rogers’ SVP products & solutions Charlie Wade, in the news release. “We’ve worked with G&D and tapped into our relationships with carriers worldwide to offer our customers a solution that allows for a seamless global deployment, all using a single SIM, on a single platform.”
Rogers added that Canadian businesses will additionally benefit from the global carrier relationships that it has established in the M2M World Alliance. Through this Alliance, the world’s largest IoT/M2M inter-operator partnership, businesses can now seamlessly roll out IoT solutions worldwide while only having to deal with a single point of contact for service and support.
