BANFF, AB – Teletoon Canada is rebooting the Canadian animated series Inspector Gadget with the launch of a new CGI version as part of its newest original production slate.
Teletoon Canada, which announced its new lineup of shows Tuesday at the Banff World Media Festival, is also premiering another new series called The Pirate Express about the adventures of 12-year-old Newt, son of the sea god Poseidon.
“Teletoon Canada has developed a reputation for consistently delivering high quality original programming that not only strikes a chord with Canadian audiences, but sees remarkable success on an international scale, and this year is no exception,” said Alan Gregg, Teletoon Canada’s director of original content, in a release. “We are extremely proud of the new and returning shows we have developed in collaboration with our talented production partners, and are very excited to bring them to the screen.”
In addition, Teletoon Canada will be premiering a number of original programs this year, including new series Camp Lakebottom, Grojband, Endangered Species, and Packages From Planet X, as well as returning shows Rocket Monkeys, Detentionaire, Johnny Test, Fugget About It, Just Kidding, and Total Drama All-Stars.
Teletoon recently sold its original series Rocket Monkeys to Nickelodeon’s global networks, and Camp Lakebottom to Disney XD.
