MARKHAM – The Ontario Association of Broadcasters has announced more details about its upcoming Career Development Day in Toronto.
OAB’s Career Day 2013, to be held March 18 at 1 p.m. at Rogers Media, 333 Bloor Street East in Toronto, will include a panel discussion entitled, “Carving your Path in Broadcasting” featuring Michelle Dubé, anchor for CTV; Mike Fuller, on-air host at KX94.7; David Ringer, technical director, Rogers Broadcasting; and Rhianna Robins, morning news and promotions assistant, Star 93.3. This discussion, moderated by Jim Carr, Director, OAB and Professor, Seneca College, will highlight success stories, what skills will secure your future job and how to get started in broadcasting.
The OAB will be webcasting the opening remarks, the award presentation and the opening panel, and will be accepting questions via Twitter. To watch the live webcast follow this link at 1 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013. Questions can be submitted via Twitter using the hashtag #cdday2013.
The main feature of our day, roundtable discussions, will include broadcasters from all areas of radio and television. This is a one of a kind opportunity for soon to be graduating students to speak candidly with experienced broadcasters in all areas of the business. They will give students firsthand information on all aspects of broadcasting in today's marketplace.
