
PITTSBURGH – Turned into a virtual event this year, the U.S. Independent Show 2020 runs this week from Tuesday to Thursday and will feature member success stories and sessions highlighting the challenges of managing and growing the independent broadband industry amid the hardships stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic.
Produced by the National Cable Television Cooperative (NCTC) and ACA Connects, the online event will provide two-hour block sessions from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. ET daily on September 29 to October 1.
Tuesday’s schedule will include a keynote by U.S. economist Marci Rossell, followed by financial analyst Spencer Kurn of New Street Research, and a CEO panel featuring leaders from Cable One, Atlantic Broadband, Vast Broadband, BOYCOM, Hotwire, EPB, Ziply Fiber, Vyve, Stratus IQ and Wow!
Wednesday will feature a panel discussion titled “Broadband for All” and a conversation between FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel and ACA Connects chair Patricia Jo Boyers, who will discuss broadband policy at the FCC and efforts to close the digital divide and ensure students can complete schoolwork online from home.
Thursday’s agenda will focus on operational challenges facing independent broadband operators. Topics to be discussed include pay-TV and OTT video strategies, customer experience and engagement, and broadband opportunities and risks.
