OTTAWA – The Canadian Chapter of the International Institute of Communications today began accepting registrations for its first virtual conference.
Its in-person gathering scheduled for April had to be cancelled, of course, due to the Covid-19 crisis.
While full details of the virtual conference program are available on the IIC Canada website, participants will hear presentations on:
- Resolving the broadcasting crisis
- Contact tracing applications in pandemic times
- Reimagining publicly-funded Canadian content
- Communications Law and Copyright
- Indigenous media in Canada
- Access to infrastructure for broadband deployment
- Mental health and the workplace
The program, which will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., has also been designed to enable Ontario lawyers to claim accreditation for six hours of continuing professional development including one hour of EDI/Professionalism and will be simultaneously interpreted in English and French.
