Now more than 1,000

TORONTO – iHeartRadio Canada (a partnership with Bell Media and iHeartRadio) launched an enhanced app Monday which now features more than 1,000 live radio stations of every genre from across North America.

The app also added Canadian stations from Evanov Communications, “with more broadcasters set to join in the coming weeks,” says the press release. Most other Canadian stations cast their lots with RadioPlayer, however, which counts 400 Canadian stations in that fold.

iHeartRadio Canada has recorded an average of 1.8 million active listeners each month since its launch in October 2016, says the release.

The free service streams on the web and a variety of iOS and Android platforms, which now includes Apple Watch, Apple CarPlay, Android Wear, and Android Auto. As well, iHeartRadio Canada now streams on Sonos devices, with additional compatible platforms to be announced in the coming weeks.

Also included in the iHeartRadio Canada programming now is a collection of podcasts, including WTF with Marc Maron; The Joe Rogan Experience; The Nerdist; as well as popular Bell Media original podcasts Mike on Much, Jay and Dan, and The TSN Hockey Bobcast.

"iHeartRadio Canada is the go-to source for people who are passionate about music and artists, and we're thrilled to deliver more content to fans across Canada with the launch of our newly enhanced service," said Rob Farina, Bell Media's head of radio content, strategy, and iHeartRadio Canada, in the press release.
