WHITEHORSE and IQALUIT – Ice Wireless has cut roaming charges for customers travelling in the U.S. or Mexico.
The mobile network operator that serves Canada’s North said Wednesday that it is the first Canadian carrier to eliminate roaming charges without daily or monthly add-on charges.
In addition, it tabled a new promotional offer that includes unlimited data for $89 per month. All smartphone plans include unlimited calls, texts and roaming throughout Canada, United States and Mexico starting from $59, while voice and text only plans begin at $19 per month.
“We are committed to improving our network coverage and accessibility to rural communities while at the same time offering customers peace of mind and freedom to talk, text and roam wherever and whenever customers want with these new affordable plans,” said president and CEO Samer Bishay, in the news release.
