TORONTO — Through a licensing agreement with Disney Direct-to-Consumer and International, the Hulu Original comedy series High Fidelity is coming to Canada as a Starz exclusive.

The gender-flipped reboot of the 2000 feature film based on Nick Hornby’s 1995 novel stars Zoë Kravitz (pictured) as Rob, a female record store owner in the rapidly gentrified neighbourhood of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, who revisits past relationships through music and pop culture, while trying to get over her one true love.

The series also stars Da’Vine Joy Randolph (Dolemite is My Name), David H. Holmes (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Mindhunter), Jake Lacy (Girls), and Kingsley Ben-Adir (Noelle). Zoë Kravitz (Big Little Lies) serves as executive producer, alongside series developers and writers Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka, both known for their work on Ugly Betty, Hart of Dixie, State of Affairs, and Chicago Fire.

Midnight Radio’s Scott Rosenberg, Josh Applebaum, André Nemec, and Jeff Pinkner are also executive producers, as well as Nick Hornby, Jeffrey Reiner, and Jesse Peretz. The series is produced by ABC Signature Studios, a part of Disney Television Studios.
