
Beijing, China – Huawei welcomed Jacques Daoust, Quebec’s Minister of the Economy, Innovation and Exports, to its research and development facility in Beijing, and reaffirmed that Huawei is committed to investing in Quebec’s universities.
Since 2010, Huawei Canada Research Centre has initiated seven different research projects in Quebec related to 5G and other advanced wireless communications technologies. These investments include projects at École Polytechnique, L’Université du Québec a Montréal, Laval University, McGill and Concordia.
“Over the past 5 years, Huawei has directly invested over $1.5M in leading-edge research with Quebec Universities” said Huawei Canada president Sean Yang, in the news release. “We have been extremely pleased with the success of these initiatives, and look forward to working with the Province of Quebec and Quebec’s network of research institutions in the months and years ahead”.
