Huawei Canada opens new office in Regina

REGINA – Huawei officially opened the doors of its new Regina office Tuesday, a facility that it says will serve as its sales and support hub in Saskatchewan, plus support its relationship with provincial telco SaskTel.

As part of the festivities, Huawei Canada president Sean Yang presented SaskTel president Ron Styles with the first SaskTel Huawei Ascend Y300 smartphone.  The device will officially go on sale at SaskTel stores across the province on Friday.

"When we started working with SaskTel in 2009, the company challenged us to deliver communications solutions that would make the Province of Saskatchewan competitive with the most technologically advanced regions of the world," Yang said in the press release.  "Since that time, we've supported the deployment of 4G and LTE wireless technologies.  We are particularly pleased to be powering SaskTel's new TDD-LTE wireless broadband service – the first LTE service of its kind in Canada – which will bring cutting edge high-speed wireless service to SaskTel customers."
