How goes service providers’ progress in reducing caller ID spoofing? The CRTC wants to know


OTTAWA — Without publicly naming names, the CRTC issued a letter Friday to telecom service providers who have not submitted their six-month progress report regarding their implementation of measures to reduce caller ID spoofing and to determine the origin of nuisance calls, a compliance requirement they must meet by March 31.In the Telecom Commission letter posted on its website, the CRTC reminded telecom service providers (TSPs) that the Commission’s Compliance and Enforcement and Telecom Decision CRTC 2018-32, issued January 25, 2018, determined that authentication and verification of caller ID information for IP voice calls should be implemented by Canadian TSPs...
