Houle takes over French-language program of Harold Greenberg Fund


MONTREAL – Canadian film and television veteran Michel Houle has been named president of the French-language program and co-chair of the board of directors of the Harold Greenberg Fund.

Founded by Astral and now administered by Bell Media, the Harold Greenberg Fund/Fonds Harold Greenberg is a national funding organization that supports the development of Canadian independent film and television production.

Houle has served on the Harold Greenberg Fund board of directors and the French-language committee for 11 years, and is regularly consulted for his extensive expertise and understanding of industry issues.  He succeeds Rock Demers who was named president of the Fund in 1996.

“Michel's in-depth knowledge of film and television production, distribution and exhibition make him uniquely qualified to take over and pursue the Fund's mission," said Charles Benoit, president, television and radio – Québec, Bell Media, in the announcement.  "We are confident that with the help of his outstanding team, he will fulfil the promise of the Harold Greenberg Fund and its programs to benefit Canadian talent."
