TORONTO – Hollywood Suite’s Julie Kumaria is headed to Harvard in June as this year’s recipient of the CTAM Canada Fellowship Award, also known as CTAM U.

Kumaria (pictured) is vice-president of marketing and content distribution at Hollywood Suite, a movie service package with 4 HDTV channels that launched in early 2011.  Prior to joining Hollywood Suite, she worked for Astral Television, handling affiliate marketing for TMN, HBO Canada, Family Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD.  Her television experience also extends to Insight Sports, where she was the senior director of content/affiliate distribution for GOLTV, GameTV and WFN in both Canada and the U.S.  In addition, Kumaria has also held the role of manager of sales and marketing at SK Films (a division of Shaftesbury Films), where she led all film distribution and oversaw the marketing of films to theatres internationally.

Kumaria served on the CTAM board as the chair for marketing in 2011 and 2012, and has been on the advisory board for Bloor Hot Docs Cinema since 2014.  In 2016, she won the Women in Communications (WCT) award for Mentor of the Year, and is an advocate for women’s advancement.
