TORONTO – Independent broadcaster Hollywood Suite today announced an agreement with Mongrel Media to bring over 20 premium titles to the service over the next year.
The deal includes the Iranian animated feature Persepolis (2007), which will kick off Hollywood Suite’s new “World Cinema Wednesdays” initiative, designed to highlight great films from around the globe. The award-winning film tells the story of a young girl growing up amidst the Islamic Revolution in Iran and premieres March 3rd.
The deal will also bring Sun Children (2020) to Hollywood Suite, which has been shortlisted for Best International Feature for the 2021 Academy Awards. Additional highlights of films in the partnership include: Bandar Band (2020), RBG (2018), A Fantastic Woman (2017), The Lobster (2014), The Lunchbox (2013), A Royal Affair (2012) and Let the Right One In (2008). The movies will also be available on demand.

Hollywood Suite’s World Cinema Wednesdays March lineup features Claire Denis’ Beau Travail (1999), Natalie Portman’s A Tale of Love and Darkness (2015), Rubaiyat Hossain’s Made in Bangladesh (2019) and Chantal Akerman’s Jeanne Dielman, 23, quai du Commerce, 1080 Brussels (1975).
