Hollywood Suite announced Wednesday it will mark National Canadian Film Day on April 16 with a full day of programming featuring Canadian creators and talent, including exclusive broadcast premieres of homegrown films.

“National Canadian Film Day is a great excuse to kick back and appreciate the best of Canadian cinema without leaving the comfort of your couch,” Suzanne Marshall, Hollywood Suite’s senior manager of programming, said in a press release. “Hollywood Suite is proud to bring some of the amazing talent we have in Canada to the forefront this month.”

At 7:30 p.m. ET on April 16, Hollywood Suite will premiere director Josephine Anderson’s intimate and imaginative coming-of-age documentary feature Curl Power (2024). The feature film explores themes of gentrification, resilience and community, and stars Kiana Madeira (Netflix’s Fear Street), Lovell Adams-Gray (Power Book II: Ghost), and multi-platinum recording artist Fefe Dobson.
