TORONTO – Hollywood Suite has the exclusive rights to the 2017 EE British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) and live coverage of the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards next month.
The BAFTAs, hosted this year by actor and comedian Stephen Fry, are seen as a major indicator for the Academy Awards, and have become one of the most important award shows with most of the year’s big nominees trekking to London to attend the show (click here for the list of nominees). Hollywood Suite will air the event on February 12 at 6:00 PM ET, with repeats at 8:00 PM ET and 10:00 PM ET.
Now in its 32nd year, the Film Independent Spirit Awards is an annual celebration honouring the best in independent filmmaking and some of the year’s most critically acclaimed films. Broadcast live from a tent on the beach in Santa Monica, the event serves as a relaxed, spontaneous low-key lead-up to the Academy Awards. Hosted this year by actors and comedians Nick Kroll (Parks and Recreation, Kroll Show) and John Mulaney (Saturday Night Live, Mulaney, Kroll Show), live coverage kicks off at 5:00 PM ET on February 25, with repeats at 7:00 PM ET and 9:00 PM ET.
