Hollywood Suite honours International Women’s Day with a month of movies

TORONTO — In honour of International Women’s Day on March 8, Hollywood Suite announced today its programming during the month of March will feature several movies directed by or starring women, many of which are premiering on Hollywood Suite for the first time.

One of the films featured in the collection is Colette (2018), which will be a Hollywood Suite exclusive title following its premiere on March 8 at 9 p.m. ET. The film stars Keira Knightley as author Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette, who is forced to ghostwrite under her husband’s name, but upon the success of the books, then fights to assert her creative ownership, challenging gender norms of the time.

“From comedy and drama to documentary and romance, we have something for everyone,” said Sharon Stevens, vice-president of programming for Hollywood Suite, in a press release. “Together with Colette, we’ve curated an exciting month of female-driven films that shine a light on some of the most compelling storytellers of the past sixty years.”
