
TORONTO — Hollywood Suite announced today its September schedule will feature musical programming of all kinds, including concert films, music documentaries, artist biopics and movies with iconic soundtracks.
It will also feature the broadcast premiere of Metric: Dreams So Real on September 2 at 9 p.m. ET.
This feature-length concert documentary “captures a live performance during the Canadian rock band’s 2016 year-long sold-out world tour,” explains a press release.
“We are thrilled to present the premiere of Metric: Dreams So Real to kick off our incredible month of music programming,” said Sharon Stevens, vice-president of programming at Hollywood Suite, in the release. “From Metric and Coldplay, to biopics of some of the most celebrated artists of all time, there is sure to be something in our lineup to please both music and film lovers alike.”
Other concert films in Hollywood Suite’s September schedule include Coldplay Live in São Paulo (2017), Paul Simon: Concert in the Park (1991) and The Who: Live at the Kilburn 1977. Rockumentaries premiering on Hollywood Suite in September include Jimi Hendrix (1973), Festival Express (2003) and The Wrecking Crew (2008).
Among the musically driven movies premiering on Hollywood Suite are Bandar Band (2020), Ladies and Gentlemen, The Fabulous Stains (1982), Little Voice (1998) and The Sapphires (2012).
Some of the music-infused programming returning to Hollywood Suite this month includes Almost Famous (2000), Detroit Rock City (1999), The Blues Brothers (1980), Mamma Mia! (2008), Purple Rain (1984), The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975) and Kinky Boots (2005).
