TORONTO – CBC will begin airing some of its high-profile sports properties beginning with this Saturday’s Hockey Night In Canada broadcast.
Viewers can catch game one of the Saturday night doubleheader in HD starting at 7 p.m. ET as the defending Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning hit the ice in Toronto to take on the Maple Leafs.
Saturday Night, the pre-game show hosted by Ron MacLean at 6:30 p.m. ET will also be available in HD in addition to Coach’s Corner Continuing throughout the 2005/06 season, the first game of each Saturday night HNIC doubleheader will be broadcast in HD.
Game two – a western game – will be in SD.
However, on Saturday, January 7th, viewers will see game two of CBC’s Hockey Day In Canada traditional all-Canadian NHL tripleheader in HD as the Edmonton Oilers host Toronto at the Rexall Place in Edmonton, beginning at 7 p.m. ET.
CBC’s Canadian Football League playoff broadcasts will also be in HD, including the West Division Championship on Sunday, Nov. 20 and the 93rd Grey Cup Championship in Vancouver.
