Heritage Minister Guilbeault to open Prime Time 2020


OTTAWA — The CMPA’s Prime Time 2020 conference at the end of the month will kick off with an opening keynote by Minister of Canadian Heritage Steven Guilbeault, it was announced Monday.

Guilbeault will be joined on stage by CMPA president and CEO Reynolds Mastin for a discussion about the current state of the screen-based industries and Minister Guilbeault’s vision for the future of Canadian content creation. The fireside chat with Minister Guilbeault will take place on the morning of Thursday, January 30.

“We are honoured to welcome Minister Guilbeault to Prime Time at this inflection point for the Canadian screen-based production industry,” Mastin said in the news release. “Canada’s independent producers are eager to get to know Minister Guilbeault who since his appointment two short months ago has already shown himself to be a strong and passionate advocate for our sector.”

Prime Time 2020 takes place from January 29 to 31 at the Westin Ottawa and Shaw Centre. Prime Time 2020’s opening reception gala on the evening of January 29 will feature the final season world premiere of CTV’s Cardinal.

CMPA also announced the Prime Time 2020 app is now available to be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play. The app is accessible only to registered Prime Time delegates.
