Hedley cleans up at Canadian Radio Music Awards


TORONTO – Hedley was the big winner at the 12th Annual Canadian Radio Music Awards, honouring “the hottest new talent making the biggest splash on Canadian airwaves.”

The awards were handed out at the gala luncheon Friday at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto, where most of the nominated artists also performed.

"Every year, we’re simply blown away by the awesome talent that continues to pop up all over the country," said Pierre Louis Smith, vice president of policy and chief regulatory office for the Canadian Association of Broadcasters, in a statement. "As Canada’s private radio broadcasters, we’re proud to be able to provide a platform to showcase their amazing abilities."

The other Canadian Radio Music Award winners for 2009 are:

Rock – Age of Daze: "Afflicted"
Hot AC – Lights "Drive my Soul" Mainstream AC: "Drive my Soul"
CHR – Crash Parallel: "World we Know"
Dance/Urban/Rhythmic – Kreesha Turner: "Bounce with Me"

Fan’s Choice – Hedley: "For the Nights I Can’t Remember"
Song of the Year – Hedley: "For the Nights I Can’t Remember"
The Chart Topper Award – Hedley: "For the Nights I Can’t Remember"
FACTOR Breakthrough Artist of the Year: Justin Hines
