OTTAWA – The president and CEO of the Canadian Film and Television Production Association (CFTPA) has tendered his resignation after 12 years of service.
Guy Mayson announced Wednesday that he looks forward to “new challenges in the communications industry”, but will serve as a strategic advisor to the CFTPA during its “planned transition”.
“I am very proud of my term at the CFTPA and proud of the role the Association has achieved as a powerful and credible advocate for production industry issues,” Mayson said in a statement. “I want to thank the dedicated team of professionals we have assembled at the CFTPA and I know they will continue to serve the Association with great passion going forward. There is no doubt there are many challenges ahead in our sector, but I have confidence that under the auspices of a new CEO, the CFTPA and the independent production sector will continue to thrive.”
The statement said that Mayson’s successor will be named shortly.
