HDTV and OpenCable to headline next SCTE Ontario meeting


MISSISSAUGA – The theme of the next meeting of the Ontario Chapter of the SCTE, on November 3rd, is "Advanced Video Applications: HDTV and OpenCable.”

The speakers and their presentations include:

1) OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP) Tutorial – Michael Malcy, vidiom systems
2) Preparing the Headend for Advanced Video Services’ Deployments, Chris Lapine, Director DTV Services Technology, Rogers Cable Inc.
3) HDTV Troubleshooting, Marco Petraglia, System Integrator, Rogers Cable Inc.
4) PVRs and Home Networking, XX, Digeo, Inc. [To Be Confirmed]

The full agenda for the day, to be held at the Mississauga Grand Convention Center, is on the Ontario Chapter web site – www.scte-ontario.com. Registration for the meeting begins at 8:30 am, and the meeting will start at 9:30 am.

The day wraps up with vendor displays and a social gathering.

Cost for the meeting, including lunch, is $35 for SCTE members, $45 for non-members. Cash or cheques only please.

To reserve a seat, an on-line registration form is on the Ontario Chapter web site. Filling it out and submitting it beforehand will reserve your seat and help organizers estimate seating and food requirements.
