TORONTO – Canadians subscribers to NBCU streamer hayu can now binge on the British reality series Love Island UK.

The reality dating show features a group of twenty-something singles living in a luxury villa, looking for a chance to find love.  When the contestants, known as Islanders, first arrive, they are coupled with complete strangers sharing everything including a bed.  Those not in a couple are at risk of being dumped from the island and new Islanders arrive at the villa at different stages.

When the show aired live in the UK, local residents could vote for who should stay, who should go, and which couple should be sent on a date.  In a final twist, one half of the winning couple is awarded £50,000 and he or she must decide whether to keep it all or share it with his or her new partner.

Love Island UK has sold as a finished show to more than 75 territories, with eight additional broadcasters launching their own local version, including CBS which will launch a U.S. edition next year.

hayu is the first all-reality subscription video-on-demand service of its kind – curated and fully integrated with social media – and is available in Canada, the UK, Ireland Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark on various mobile, tablet, laptop and connected TVs.
