Hay launches 8 Gigabit service in rural southwestern Ontario

Hay Communications announced this week the launch of 8 Gbps internet download speeds and its first subscriber in southwestern Ontario.

“Over the past 20 years, our expanding fibre network has laid the groundwork for this achievement,” a Hay press release said.

“Our network technicians have been working on this project for the last year upgrading fibre optic equipment and the core fibre network to the broader world wide web,” added Hay General Manager Angela Lawrence. “We can now feel great about our first 8 gig customer added and this monumental accomplishment.”

Hay added that it recently surpassed 10,000 customers in southwestern Ontario.

“This will allow businesses to expand without the need to relocate and ensure homes have sufficient bandwidth for any new trends,” Lawrence said. “Adopting new technologies will no longer be hindered by connection speeds. Whether it’s virtual reality, video conferencing, online gaming, or remote education and work, our service ensures a seamless and reliable experience.

“We are being proactive in addressing the present and future connectivity needs of our customers,” she added.
