TORONTO – Canadian broadcast equipment sales veteran Sean East has been hired by Harris Corp. as its Canadian sales manager in its radio division.
In his new role, East will report to Chris Pannell, director of North American radio sales, and focus on Harris transmission sales throughout Canada, according to the company.
"East joins an already strong team of radio industry veterans on the Harris Radio Broadcast sales team, including Al Jason (district sales manager, northwestern U.S. region), Terry Becht (district sales manager, southern central U.S. region) and a large group of new channel partners in the U.S. and Canada," reads the Harris press release.
East comes over from transmitter manufacturer Larcan where he was Canadian and international sales manager, where he spent eight years. Prior to that, he was with Applied Electronics.
"Sean brings a wealth of sales experience to our team, and his well-established reputation in Canada will help us increase our presence as a full-service radio technology supplier throughout the country," said Pannell, in the release. "Sean also brings a tremendous amount of RF engineering knowledge to his position, which will be a valuable asset as he builds relationships with new and existing Harris customers across Canada."
"My main goal is to build on Harris Corporation’s reputation as a company that will be here for the long haul, especially as Canada inches closer to digital radio," said East. "Harris is well positioned to take a leadership position in this market in the next few years with the technology we offer."
East will sell the entire line of Harris radio broadcast products, with a focus on transmission, including analog AM/FM, HD Radio, and DAB transmitters. He is based in Toronto.
