OTTAWA – Gusto TV is preparing to serve up Australia’s highest-rated television series, My Kitchen Rules – season 5, starting May 21.

The reality cooking show is currently the most-watched TV program in Australia, with an audience that peaked at 3.7 million viewers.  Set against the backdrop of regional Australia, the show follows twelve home chef teams as they travel across the country in a state vs. state, plate vs. plate competition to determine whose kitchen rules. The teams take turns transforming their own homes into an instant restaurant in an attempt to impress the judges and fellow contestants, each facing dramatic challenges in a battle for the $250,000 cash prize.

My Kitchen Rules has wowed audiences internationally, and we can’t wait to bring this hit food fight home to Canadian viewers,” said Gusto TV president and CEO Chris Knight, in the news release.  “The dishes and drama make for great television, but what has captivated audiences are the stories and characters that develop throughout the series. We can all relate to the many twists and turns of hosting our own dinner parties – this is real people cooking real food.”

My Kitchen Rules – season 5 will air exclusively on Gusto TV in Canada, Monday-Thursdays at 9:00 PM ET/PT.
