OTTAWA – Gusto Worldwide Media announced Monday it has opened a brand new 13,000-square foot television studio, post production facility and headquarters in Ottawa.

The move is a part of Gusto Worldwide Media's strategy to expand their operations globally. (As a reminder, Gusto Worldwide Media is independent from Bell Media’s Gusto TV channel, although GWM – which used to own the channel – still makes programming for the channel.)

The new build (pictured) includes a 3,500-square foot soundstage, a 1,000-square foot commercial kitchen, online and offline post production services as well as master control and playout. The new facility also has an on-site workshop and carpentry. Production is now underway for multiple series as part of Gusto Worldwide Media's partnership with Bell Media, says the press release.

“With the volume of high quality content that we are producing, our own studio made sense. Our team has tripled over the last year and we're thrilled to be finally working under the same roof," said Chris Knight, president and CEO, GWM, in the release. "This is a huge step towards expanding our company, while creating a space that is tailored to our production needs.”

"There are strong financial incentives to shoot TV in Ottawa including tax credit subsidies not available in the GTA. While we didn't build this place to get into the facility rental business, there will be about 100 dark dates available to other producers,” he added.
