
TORONTO – Bell Media’s The Harold Greenberg Fund today is ended its fiscal quarter by announcing support for 15 new Canadian feature film projects through the Fund’s Script Development Program.
This represents an investment of more than $236,000. The Fund’s Script Development program supports Canadian films through all stages, including story optioning and first and second drafts, to third drafts, and polish and packaging, reads the press release.
Exciting second feature projects selected for funding this quarter include: Anthony Shim’s (Daughter) Riceboy Sleeps; Linsey Stewart/Dane Clark’s (I Put a Hit on You) Suze; Matthew Kowalchuk’s film adaptation of Jenny Manzer’s children’s novel My Life as a Diamond; and Ho Che Anderson’s acclaimed graphic novel Sand and Fury: A Scream Queen Adventure, to be scripted and directed Anderson himself.
The current selection also includes projects from some of Canada’s established filmmakers, including: Daniel Grou’s Starfall, a science-fiction film from writer Jesse Heffring; writer/director Anne Wheeler’s Rude Awakening; and Wiebke Von Carolsfeld/Doug Taylor’s Consent.
