Gowan to host Canadian music awards

TORONTO – Canadian musician Lawrence Gowan will host the Canadian Music Industry Awards. Another well known Canadian musician is also scheduled to appear at the ceremony. Burton Cummings will perform in honour of Chuck McCoy, this year’s recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, to commemorate his induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall of Fame. The annual gala will take place on March 12, 2009 in Toronto, as part of Canadian Music Week. In other news, nominations for the industry and broadcast categories for the awards are now open.
