
TORONTO – Global Television is about to launch one of the largest outdoor media campaigns ever in Canada, one which will generate over 1.2 billion impressions nationally in its first month.
Starting next week, consumers across Canada will become much more familiar with the programs, stars and news personalities appearing on Global Television. Watch for the Global TV promotional blitz package during this weekend’s Super Bowl, too.
On Sunday, February 5th, the network will be launching a new outdoor campaign in support of its revitalized brand image, featuring key quotes from some of Global’s leading primetime characters and news personalities. The network will also be promoting its new brand identity in newspapers, on radio and through extensive on-air advertising.

"We are introducing a whole new Global on February 5th," said Walter Levitt, senior vice-president of marketing – television and radio, CanWest MediaWorks, in a release. "We’re confident that the magnitude and message of this campaign will resonate with consumers, and play a dynamic role in connecting them with our re-energized Global brand."
The new brand image, which includes both a redesigned logo and refreshed on-air visual identity woven through the network’s newscasts, advertising and on-air presentation, will be unveiled on February 5th, 2006 – Super Bowl Sunday – beginning with sign on at 6 a.m.

The marketing blitz is a major portion of the ongoing rebuilding of the network – and comes just in time for the financial analysts covering the company to see the plan in action, prior to Tuesday’s CanWest Global Investors’ day in Toronto.
