TORONTO — Corus Entertainment announced today Global TV has acquired a new Chuck Lorre-produced comedy, United States of Al, which will premiere on the channel on Thursday, April 1 at 8:30 p.m.
United States of Al stars Adhir Kalyan (above, left) and Parker Young (right) in a comedy about a friendship between Riley (Young), a U.S. Marine combat veteran readjusting to civilian life in Ohio, and Awalmir “Al” (Kalyan), the interpreter who served with his unit in Afghanistan and has just arrived to start a new life in America.
The series also stars Elizabeth Alderfer, Dean Norris, Kelli Goss and Farrah Mackenzie. Executive producers for the show include Chuck Lorre, creators/writers David Goetsch and Maria Ferrari, Reza Aslan, Mahyad Tousi and director Mark Cendrowski (pilot only).
