TORONTO – Editorial team changes abound at Global TV’s supper hour newscast Global National, highlighted by the appointment of Doriana Temolo as news director.
An original Global National staff member, Temolo helped to launch the show over ten years ago, and has spent the past five years as its managing editor. In this newly-created role, she will lead all aspects of the national newscast.
Veteran broadcaster Doug Sydora will replace Temolo as the new managing editor, after spending several years as a senior producer for Global BC. In addition, Michael Hennigar has been hired as the show’s new senior producer, and producer Kam Razavi has been promoted to senior producer, weekends.
Both Temolo and Razavi take charge of Global National beginning immediately, while Hennigar and Sydora move to their new positions beginning December 12.
“These additions represent our continuing dedication to solidifying the Global National newscast as a premier Canadian destination for timely and contextual national and international headlines,” said Troy Reeb, VP of Global News, in Tuesday’s announcement. “Doriana, Michael and Doug’s lengthy experience in broadcasting will prove invaluable in building an even stronger Global National newscast.”
Global National airs at 5:30 pm in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba; at 6:30 pm in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes; and at 7:30pm in Newfoundland on NTV.
