Global mobile data traffic to surge 13x in next 4 years

SAN JOSE, CA - Worldwide mobile data traffic will increase 13-fold over the next four years, most of which will be driven by growth in the Asia Pacific region. By 2017 nearly half of all cellular traffic will be off-loaded to fixed or Wi-fi networks and 4G will support nearly 10% of all mobile connections. The predictions come from the Cisco Visual Networking Index Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast for 2012 to 2017.
