BURNABY, BC – The multi-year wireless kiosk licensing deal between Glentel’s U.S. subsidiary, Diamond Wireless, and BJ’s Wholesale Club is now official, Glentel announced Monday.
First announced last month, Diamond Wireless is now managing and operating 154 kiosks at BJ’s locations in 12 states. Prior to this licensing agreement, Verizon Wireless had been operating the wireless kiosks at BJ’s since 2006.
As an exclusive Verizon Wireless retailer, Diamond Wireless has agreed to take over the management of the existing wireless kiosks within BJ's and to open kiosks in other selected BJ's locations that currently do not offer smartphones.
Glentel president and CEO Tom Skidmore said he anticipates the licensing deal with bring in $110 to $125 million in revenue. “It is expected that the Diamond-BJ's kiosk stores will have similar financial performance to the Costco Wholesale Canada wireless kiosks managed by Glentel's Retail Canada division under the Wireless etc… and Sans Fil etc…banners,” Skidmore said in a company release.
