Galaxie services get more user-friendly for Telus’ TV customers

MONTREAL and VANCOUVER – Telus’ Optik TV customers are among the first to take advantage of a new application for Stingray Digital's Galaxie music services.

Starting today, Optik TV users can launch the Galaxie application from their main menu to check out what’s playing across the 45 channels, see album art, and review the channel’s playlists from the past 24 hours.

“Our engineering and product development departments are continuously working on improvements to the popular Galaxie music service,” said Eric Boyko, Stingray Digital's president and CEO, in the announcement.  “The Galaxie Mediaroom application that Telus customers can now enjoy is a significant improvement for browsing and listening to their favourite channels.”

The Galaxie music service on Telus Optik TV includes 45 professionally programmed music channels in popular genres including rock, pop, jazz, classical, and country, and is included at no additional charge for all customers.

“At Telus, we are dedicated to offering our Optik TV customers a better and differentiated TV service that is always evolving,” added Chris Langdon, VP of consumer products and services.  “By offering entertainment services that do more, like the Galaxie advanced TV application, we make Telus Optik TV an even richer entertainment experience and thus increase the value of the service for our fast growing customer base.”
