TORONTO – Martine Gaillard, whom sports fans got to know from her years on The Score and with CBC, has joined Rogers Sportsnet, it was announced today.
Gaillard (right) will be one of the hosts of sportsnetnews, replacing the recently departed Jody Vance, who recently quit to pursue other things.

“The addition of Martine to sportsnetnews bolsters an already strong line-up of on-air personalities,” said Rick Briggs-Jude, vice-president, production, Rogers Sportsnet. “Her experience and on-air presence are definite assets to the Sportsnet team.”
Gaillard’s resume includes work as co-host on The Score for the past six years. However, she was shuffled earlier this year from the anchor desk there to doing features. She has also been part of the CBC Hockey Night in Canada crew as an intermission and post-game reporter.
She has covered a number of high profile events including; the 2000 MLB All-Star Game and the 2000 “Subway” World Series between the New York Yankees and New York Mets. Gaillard, who hails from St. Brieux, Saskatchewan, also served as emcee at the 2002 Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
“I have been very fortunate to have had many great opportunities in sports these last several years and this is just another example,” said Gaillard, in the release. “Joining Sportsnet is the next step for me. With Rogers’ involvement in so many great sports properties including Toronto Blue Jays baseball, hockey, radio – and of course the Olympics – I couldn’t be more excited to join the Rogers family.”
