
QUEBEC – The Government of Quebec this week provided funding details for several projects recently announced to be part of phase two of the Canada-Quebec Operation High Speed.
This includes $6.21 million for Vidéotron to provide high-speed Internet access to 1,560 households in the Lanaudière and Laurentides regions. The total project is expected to cost $7.85 million.
A further $18.9 million was allocated to the D’Autray Regional County Municipality (RCM) and the Matawinie RCM to support continued deployment of high-speed Internet to 10,980 households.
Lastly, $3.2 million was allocated for the Table d’action en communication et technologies de l’information de la MRC de Coaticook (TACTIC) to proceed with high-speed Internet deployment to 2,980 households in the Coaticook RCM.
The funding announcements for D’Autray RCM, Matawinie RCM and TACTIC are for projects that are already underway.
All three projects are due to be completed by September 2022.
