Freedom Mobile on Tuesday announced the launch of Freedom 5G Home Internet, currently available in select markets to existing eligible mobile customers by invitation only.
“This launch marks an important step in expanding Freedom’s product portfolio and our commitment to deliver innovative solutions that continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” Pierre Karl Péladeau, president and CEO of Quebecor, parent company of Freedom Mobile, said in a press release. “By tapping into our existing network infrastructure we’re able to create new value for customers and drive competition in this growing market segment.”
Leveraging Freedom’s growing wireless network, 5G Home Internet “provides a more affordable home internet solution for the light user, offering Canadians more options when choosing the connectivity solutions to fit their individual lifestyles,” Freedom’s press release said.
Freedom 5G Home Internet plans start at $24 per month, as long as the customer keeps their mobile plan. Freedom said the product offers plug-and-play set-up and is great for everyday browsing and streaming. In addition, Freedom 5G Home Internet customers are protected by Freedom’s Price Freeze Promise, which means their plan price will stay the same for as long as they keep their plan.
