Fraser takes on board chair at WIFT-T


TORONTO – Entertainment One’s Prentiss Fraser has been named board chair of Women in Film & Television – Toronto (WIFT-T) for the upcoming term, replacing outgoing chair Susan Ross.

“WIFT-T extends a sincere thank you to Susan for her dedication and invaluable leadership during her tenure as Chair,” said WIFT-T executive director Heather Webb, in the announcement. “The organization is now pleased to appoint Prentiss Fraser, another impressive industry leader who brings a wealth of experience and resources to the position.”

The board also announced that Jade Raymond, managing director at Ubisoft Toronto Inc. and Joanna Webb, SVP of programming and production, specialty television at Bell Media were elected as new directors at the organization’s annual general meeting.

Board members re-elected for the 2011 term are:

– Mary Bredin, vice-president, Guru Studio;
– Prentiss Fraser, senior vice-president, worldwide sales and acquisitions, Entertainment One;
– Victoria Ha, partner and producer, Stitch Media;
– Maureen Judge, president, Makin’ Movies;
– Gaye McDonald, owner, Branded Entertainment Management;
– Samantha McWilliams, legal counsel, CBC;
– Edith Myers, managing director, Pinewood Toronto Studios;
– Kara Russell, associate, Fine & Deo, Barristers and Solicitors;
– Muriel Solomon, vice-president of marketing strategy, specialty, Shaw Media;
– Diane Williamson, president, Digital Wizards Inc.;
– Akhaji Zakiya, business manager, digital programming and business development, CBC; and
– Madeline Ziniak, national vice-president, OMNI Television.
