Four billion cellular users by the end of the year, says ITU

GENEVA – The number of world wide mobile phone users will surpass the 4 billion mark by the end of the year, ITU Secretary-General Hamadoun Touré said in New York today. Dr Touré was speaking at the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in New York, where he also participated in UN Private Sector Forums addressing the global food crisis and the role of technological innovation in meeting the MDGs.
