OTTAWA – Ottawa-based technology company Nuvyyo has added former TiVo and Dish Network exec Ira Bahr to its Board of Directors.
As the former chief marketing officer and general manager of TiVo’s retail division, and senior vice-president and chief marketing officer at Dish Network, Bahr (pictured) will provide Nuvyyo with guidance on growth, retail strategy, and product positioning as it seeks to expand its channel and partner relationships, reads the announcement.
The company offers a range of over-the-air DVRs that it says gives consumers an affordable alternative to paid TV subscriptions.
“Ira’s wealth of expertise in DVR hardware retail as well as in live linear video are an invaluable asset for our company,” said Nuvyyo CEO Grant Hall, in the announcement. “We’re thrilled to bring on an executive with a deep understanding of our space as we continue to evolve our portfolio of Over-the-Air DVR products and software applications for cord-cutters across North America.”
