
TORONTO – TVO’s unique approach to engaging the citizens of Ontario in the upcoming provincial election has received some high-level kudos.
Former Ontario Premiers Bill Davis, David Peterson and Bob Rae have thrown their support behind TVO’s Your Vote 2011 suite of media resources, and are encouraging citizens to use the platform to become better informed about the issues shaping the provincial election.
The site includes resources to help build a more engaged democracy, including on-line episodes of current affairs show The Agenda with Steve Paikin, which has devoted all episodes so far this to season to providing in-depth analysis of election issues which will continue through Election Day on October 6. It also offers web-exclusive video, platform summaries and leader profiles, blogs, campaign analysis, an election toolkit, and Web chats around hot election topics.

"Your Vote 2011 serves a real need for in-depth analysis of the Ontario political landscape," said Bill Davis, Ontario Premier from 1971-1985 and also the founder of TVO. "I encourage anyone who is looking to get informed about the platforms, the parties and the complex issues of this election to spend some time with TVO."
"I find it impressive that TVO is taking a unique and in-depth approach in covering this election," said David Peterson, Ontario Premier from 1985-1990. "It is fitting that our public educational broadcaster is providing such a solid opportunity for Ontarians to engage in the political process."
