OTTAWA – Retired CFL star Henry Burris is joining Ottawa’s CTV Morning Live as a weekday co-host starting Tuesday.
The 2016 Grey Cup MVP will also take on duties as CFL radio analyst for Bell Media Radio’s TSN 1200 and 580 CFRA News Talk Radio in Ottawa.
Born in Spiro, Oklahoma, Burris (pictured) officially announced his retirement from football in January, signing off on an 18-year CFL that saw him win two Grey Cup championships with the Calgary Stampeders in 1998 and 2008, and his third with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2016. He also played with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Hamilton Tiger-Cats, plus spent time in the NFL from 2001-2003 with the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers.
“The qualities that made Henry a football champion – leadership, inspiration, motivational skills, and non-stop team work – make him a terrific addition to the Bell Media family,” said Richard Gray, VP and GM Radio and TV, Ottawa, Eastern and Northern Ontario, in Friday’s news release. “We are delighted to welcome Henry to CTV Morning Live, TSN 1200, and 580 CFRA News Talk Radio, and to enriching our teams with his unique background and perspective.”
