TORONTO – Digital Reno Agency has named James Roy as president, effective immediately.
Digital Reno Agency is an independent corporation focused on broadcasting and content marketing and creating new ways to digitally develop and distribute clients' stories.
With responsibility for all aspects of production and a mandate to accelerate the company's growth in digital storytelling formats, Roy will work with the board to achieve strategic objectives and lead the team in developing and producing innovative podcasts, video, and proprietary content platforms for the company's clients, reads Monday’s announcement.
Roy brings over 35 years of experience in radio drama, live broadcasts, and theatre, to his new role. As an executive producer at CBC Radio from 1990 to 2005, he produced a number of acclaimed dramas and current-affairs-based series including Metro Morning's "The Diamond Lane"; Morningside's Booster McCrane, PM; and the long-running series, Afghanada. He also oversaw CBC Radio One's SiriusXM channel, and led the Radio Promotions Unit.
"We're very excited to have James Roy on board", said chief digital officer J. Love, in the announcement. “The broadcasting and production expertise which Mr. Roy brings, together with his love of storytelling will take our organization to a whole new level in exceeding client satisfaction, and in the ability to tell client stories in way that resonates with and impacts audiences."
"This new role brings together so much of what I love", added Roy. "Stories are the currency of our human condition and storytelling has been the raw material of everything I've done in my life. There is no better platform for delivering a company's message or for getting engagement from individuals as customers or employees than storytelling. That's also why I'm a strong believer in the power and potential of brand journalism and am looking forward to further developing an already strong team that can deliver content in an exceptional manner."
