WATERLOO – Former BlackBerry exec Lindsay Gibson has joined cloud-based phone carrier TextNow as chief operating officer.
Gibson (pictured) spent 16 years at BlackBerry, most recently as VP of manufacturing & supply chain. In her new role, she will assume leadership for all TextNow operations including oversight of the entire customer experience lifecycle encompassing customer care, fulfillment, billing and IT. She will also be responsible for business strategy, execution and continue to build upon the company's growth.
"With TextNow's recent growth trajectory and corporate expansion, we need to continue to build a very strong team to support every aspect of our business," said TextNow CEO and co-founder Derek Ting, in the announcement. "Lindsay's stellar accomplishments at BlackBerry make her the perfect candidate to help us focus on both the TextNow customer experience and corporate growth as we continue to expand."
"Having spent my entire career working for a global corporate company, I'm attracted to beginning this new path working for an entrepreneurial venture like TextNow whose primary goal is to provide the most affordable and user friendly wireless service to its users," added Gibson. "I look forward to bringing my expertise to a team that continues to make their customers their number one priority while leveraging the massive growth opportunities that lie ahead."
