First subscriber gets XM service for life

ILE-DES-SOEURS, VERDUN, QC and TORONTO, ON - XM Canada, officially launched Wednesday, despite the fact its hardware won’t be widely available until next week. Its first subscriber, Michel Leblanc of Ile-des-Soeurs, Quebec, was unveiled as its first subscriber and he was awarded two receivers and XM Canada service for life. He also wins a role as guest host of an XM Canada channel broadcasting from XM's Montréal studios. The total value of the prize is more than $7,500.
