
ILE-DES-SOEURS, VERDUN, QC and TORONTO, ON – XM Canada, officially launched Wednesday, despite the fact its hardware won’t be widely available until next week.
Its first subscriber, Michel Leblanc of Ile-des-Soeurs, Quebec, was unveiled as its first subscriber and he was awarded two receivers and XM Canada service for life. He also wins a role as guest host of an XM Canada channel broadcasting from XM’s Montréal studios. The total value of the prize is more than $7,500.
XM Canada officially launched Wednesday with its 80-channel service.
More than 4,500 Canadians have pre-registered for XM over the last month by signing up to be members of XM Canada’s Founders Club. Now, those fans will be the first to be able to purchase XM radios online and begin subscribing to the XM Canada service. They’ll also get 35%-off the Delphi RoadyXT.
