First Peoples Radio announces layoffs at Ottawa, Toronto stations

OTTAWA and TORONTO — First Peoples Radio, a not-for-profit broadcast company that operates 95.7 ELMNT FM in Ottawa and 106.5 ELMNT FM in Toronto, announced last week it has laid off seven employees from both stations due to the many challenges it has faced, including those brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, the company said. First Peoples Radio (FPR) is a subsidiary of Dadan Sivunivut, an independent holding company established by APTN in 2019.
